My kid has learning problems. How do I know if he needs tutoring?

Yes, Learning Lab offers specialized programs for students with ADHD that focus on executive functioning and academic skills such as organization, time management, and sustained attention. Our structured, personalized approach helps students succeed academically.

A formal dyslexia diagnosis is not required to enroll in our program. We welcome any information you can share about your child’s learning needs so we can better support them.

Yes, we are approved providers for the Unique Abilities Scholarship. We will provide documentation for parents to submit to Step Up to be reimbursed.

Honestly, it depends on your child—and that’s a good thing! Every kid learns at their own pace, and we design our programs to honor that. Some children make big leaps in just a few weeks, while others benefit from longer, ongoing support. We regularly check in on progress so you’re never left wondering, and we’ll always be upfront with you about how things are going. The pace of progress is also influenced by the level of consistency the student receives.

I3 LAB (Intervention Program) FAQ

What does this program look like?

The I3 Lab is an intensive, one-on-one intervention program designed to target the root causes of your child’s academic struggles. Each session is highly structured and personalized, focusing on reading, writing, or math using evidence-based, multisensory instruction. 

This program is for students who: 

  • Are significantly behind academically 
  • Have dyslexia, ADHD, or learning differences 
  • Have not made progress with traditional tutoring 
  • Struggle with foundational skills 

Each session includes: 

  • Targeted skill instruction (reading, writing, or math) 
  • Multisensory learning (visual, auditory, hands-on) 
  • Repetition and guided practice 
  • Immediate feedback and correction 

This is not homework help. 
This is targeted intervention designed to close skill gaps and build foundational abilities. 

HOMEWORK LAB FAQ

What does this program look like?

Homework Lab is a small-group (3:1) structured environment where students receive support completing homework while developing executive functioning skills like organization, time management, and task initiation. 

Students who: 

  • Struggle to stay organized 
  • Take hours to complete homework 
  • Need help starting or finishing tasks 
  • Have ADHD or executive functioning challenges 

Students: 

  • Bring their homework and assignments 
  • Receive guided support from a teacher 
  • Learn strategies for planning, prioritizing, and completing work 
  • Get help understanding concepts when needed

FULL-TIME ACADEMIC PROGRAM FAQ

What does this program look like?

This is a full-time, structured academic program where students attend daily and receive individualized instruction in all core subjects. It follows a typical school-day schedule while providing significantly more personalized support. 

Students who: 

  • Are 1+ years behind academically 
  • Are not thriving in a traditional school environment 
  • Need intensive, consistent academic support 
  • Require a more individualized approach 

Each day includes: 

  • Core academic instruction (reading, writing, math, etc.) 
  • Small group and one-on-one support 
  • Structured schedule and routine 
  • Built-in support for executive functioning and confidence 

We provide full-time academic instruction aligned with state standards. Families remain responsible for their educational enrollment requirements, and we provide the structure, instruction, and documentation to support that process. 

SMART SUMMER PROGRAM FAQ

What does this program look like?

SMART Summer is a 6-week intensive program designed to help students make significant academic progress in a short period of time through daily, structured instruction. 

Students who: 

  • Are behind in reading or writing 
  • Need accelerated progress 
  • Have dyslexia, ADHD, or learning differences 
  • Have not made enough progress during the school year 

Students participate in: 

  • Daily one-on-one instruction 
  • Reading and writing intervention 
  • Fluency and comprehension work 
  • Math instruction 
  • Cognitive skill development 

Summer allows for: 

  • Daily repetition 
  • Increased intensity 
  • Faster progress than during the school year 

FLEX SUMMER PROGRAM FAQ

What does this program look like?

Flex Summer is a personalized, flexible scheduling option that allows students to maintain and build academic skills over the summer without committing to a full-time program. 

Students who: 

  • Need continued support but can’t commit to a full intensive 
  • Want to maintain progress 
  • Benefit from consistent academic reinforcement 
  • Have busy summer schedules 

Sessions are: 

  • One-on-one or small group 
  • Targeted to your child’s needs 
  • Focused on maintaining and strengthening skills
  • SMART Summer = intensive, daily program for accelerated progress 
  • Flex Summer = flexible, ongoing support to maintain momentum
